Week in Review: February 27 - March 3

This week in language arts, we reviewed synonyms and antonyms with task cards around the room, and online iStation activities. We also began to explore dictionaries and will continue that into next week. Students also had a day to complete the storyboards for their PBL Public Service Announcements that we will work on next week.

In math, we wrapped up with perimeter by comparing the relationship between area and perimeter. Next, we will be briefly studying time, and solving word problems involving elapsed time.

In social studies, we are focusing on advertising as we prepare for next week's Economics Fair. Students will be designing their own advertisements for their products in class on Monday and Tuesday. Don't forget that students need 35-40 of their items ready to sell on Thursday morning! We will not have any homework next week, in order to give you all some last minute time to finish up the products.

Our new unit in science is environments and we are just beginning to learn how conditions in an environment can impact the populations that live there. We will continue this study next week, and even after spring break.

I'll leave you this week with a snapshot of our class photo! Have a great weekend, and remember, only one school week until spring break!
