Final Week in Review: May 30 - June 1

We had a great last three days of school! We enjoyed a flashlight read-in, a board game afternoon, and trying to wrap up lots of loose ends. We also enjoyed seeing the 5th grade talent show on Wednesday. On our last day together, we enjoyed popsicles outside (thanks Rifa, for bringing in the treats!), autograph signing with all of the grade level, and of course the party. Thanks to our wonderful room mom, Mrs. Deegan, for organizing it all. Also, thanks to everyone who donated supplies to make the party a success!

A final class picture, with the gifts I gave each student.

And of course, a silly picture!
What a wonderful year we have had! I have truly treasured each one of your children, and they will always a special place in my heart. When I look back at pictures from the beginning of the year, and then look at them now, I see how much they have grown and changed physically. But the bigger changes cannot be seen...they have learned how to work together in cooperative groups, how to persevere to solve challenging math problems, how to question big ideas and experiment with science to make new discoveries, and how to express their thoughts in writing. They have learned how to make friends and show kindness, how to speak in front of a group, how to compliment people and how to offer constructive criticism when needed. But most of all, I hope they have learned their value and that they can have a real impact on their school, their community, and the larger world.

They are ready now to have a summer full of fun, and then they will dive back into school in August as fourth graders!! (And they better come back to visit me in third grade!!)
