Week in Review: May 23-27

This week, students worked on designing a resort in math based on very specific parameters that I set. Through this activity, they reviewed skills such as area, perimeter, multiplication, fractions on a number line, etc. For science, we have studied the relationship between the Earth, moon, and sun, as well as the other planets in the solar system. Students created a diagram of the solar system and included interesting facts that they learned about each planet.

Most of the pictures that I took this week were for students individual memory books, so you will see those when they come home on the last day of school. I did take a few photos during the highlight of the week...Google Expedition! Students used 3D / virtual reality goggles to explore different biomes that we have studied over the school year. Special thanks to Mrs. Swyers for organizing this for us with Google!

We've enjoyed our last full week together! Remember that Monday is a school holiday, and the last day is Thursday June 2, so next week is only 3 days. Between visiting our kindergarten buddies on Tuesday, yearbook signing and the end of year party on Wednesday,  next week is going to fly by in a blur of fun memories!

Week in Review: May 16-20

This will be a quick update, but lots of photos! Our week was filled with getting ready for Spotlight Night (writing persuasive pieces nominating a special relative for Relative of the Year award, completing a math problem solving challenge called Paradise Island, and getting our notebooks ready for viewing). We made time to visit our kindergarten buddies on Wednesday and helped them learn about different landforms.

And of course, the highlight of the week was Field Day on Friday. It's hard to get good action shots as everything happens so fast, but I hope you enjoy the pictures below. Have a great weekend!!
