First Week in Review

Wow - what an awesome week we have had! I feel like our classroom of 19 students is really coming together as a community and working well together. This week we have been busy getting to know each other and reviewing the school's "PAWS"itive Expectations. We've done lots of team building activities...ask your child about Saving Fred, cup stacking, or the Marshmallow Challenge.

We have learned about science safety, and what makes a scientist. We have even begun with technology by logging onto our new Chromebooks and getting set up in Google Classroom, which I will use throughout the year as an online learning tool.

In math, we created some class graphs from survey data and spent some time exploring various math tools and discussing how they will be useful in our problem solving this year.

It has been a busy week, and I hope a fun one full of new friends and sneak peeks of what is to come this year in third grade. I am enjoying getting to know my new students and can already tell it's going to be a great year! I hope you enjoyed the pictures above as you took a glimpse into our week!

Welcome Back to School!

Hello everyone! I hope you have had a wonderful summer, and are looking forward to coming back to school. I am certainly looking forward to meeting my new students, and having a fabulous third grade year. Once I have my class list in hand, I will give a call to every family to welcome you to third grade at England. I hope you are all able to attend our Back to School night on Thursday August 20 from 4pm-7pm. This is a casual, come-and-go event, so just stop by when you have a chance during that time frame. Your child can bring his/her school supplies so they don't have to lug them to school on the first day. If you ordered the school supply box, they should be in our classrooms ready to be unpacked that afternoon. I look forward to meeting everyone on Thursday! In the meantime, feel free to browse the rest of my website to learn a little about myself, see our daily schedule, and learn the common guidelines that all third grade teachers at England share.
