Week in Review: February 29 - March 4

This was a slightly choppy week, with the Math STAAR Ready test on Monday, and our Read-A-Thon on early release Wednesday, but we still managed to squeeze in a lot.

For early release day, we watched two online Dr. Seuss stories in honor of his birthday, enjoyed a flashlight read-in (while working on a character analysis project), and started a new read-aloud chapter book, Tuck Everlasting. Warning: it's really hard to take pictures in the dark with my camera!

This week, we finished up our PBL newsletters in language arts and took a look at our Reading STAAR Ready tests from last week.

In math, we have begun a brief unit on data / graphs and will wrap that up before spring break.
Creating a class pictograph based on where we like to read.

Surveying each other to collect data to create future graphs.
We are continuing our study of weather in science, and of course preparing for the Economics Fair in social studies. Students worked hard to design advertisements for their products that will grab the consumers' attention!

Next week will fly by with our Economics Fair on Tuesday, school-wide STEAM day on Thursday, and tests in math and science.

Have a great weekend!
