If you cannot make that time, Back to School night is on Friday August 18 from 5-6:30pm, and you are welcome to drop off supplies then as well.

If your child is in my classroom, please take a few minutes to fill out the Google Form linked below so I can have important contact information in my records.

Final Week in Review: May 30 - June 1

We had a great last three days of school! We enjoyed a flashlight read-in, a board game afternoon, and trying to wrap up lots of loose ends. We also enjoyed seeing the 5th grade talent show on Wednesday. On our last day together, we enjoyed popsicles outside (thanks Rifa, for bringing in the treats!), autograph signing with all of the grade level, and of course the party. Thanks to our wonderful room mom, Mrs. Deegan, for organizing it all. Also, thanks to everyone who donated supplies to make the party a success!

A final class picture, with the gifts I gave each student.

And of course, a silly picture!
What a wonderful year we have had! I have truly treasured each one of your children, and they will always a special place in my heart. When I look back at pictures from the beginning of the year, and then look at them now, I see how much they have grown and changed physically. But the bigger changes cannot be seen...they have learned how to work together in cooperative groups, how to persevere to solve challenging math problems, how to question big ideas and experiment with science to make new discoveries, and how to express their thoughts in writing. They have learned how to make friends and show kindness, how to speak in front of a group, how to compliment people and how to offer constructive criticism when needed. But most of all, I hope they have learned their value and that they can have a real impact on their school, their community, and the larger world.

They are ready now to have a summer full of fun, and then they will dive back into school in August as fourth graders!! (And they better come back to visit me in third grade!!)

Week in Review: May 22-26

What a jam-packed week we have had! Academically, we wrapped up our science unit on space with a test on Tuesday. Everyone in the class made a 90 or 100...wow!! In language arts, students finished their "Relative of the Year" pieces, and those went home in Thursday folders. Students also began working on a Third Grade Reflection questionnaire, but we did not have time to finish. Your child can access it through Google Classroom if they want to continue working on it, or just show you what they have so far. We also formed new book clubs to finish out the year with one last chapter book. In math, students have been working on a project called "Geometrocity" and having a great geometry review with that.

On a more fun note, we met with our kindergarten buddies, worked on our memory books, and held an Ultimate Paper Airplane Contest.

And of course, we can't forget field day on Friday! I will leave you this week with the pictures from field day, and I hope you all have a wonderful three day weekend. Remember, no school on Monday!
